Project Overview:
NAVGREEN is a flagship research initiative that unites leading Greek universities and research institutions with deep maritime expertise to deliver sustainable solutions for the decarbonisation of the shipping industry. Funded by Greece 2.0, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, NAVGREEN focuses on six key areas:
1. Alternative low- and zero-carbon fuels
2. Alternative energy systems onboard
3. Optimisation of ship energy efficiency
4. Ship digital technologies
5. Sustainable port technologies and infrastructure
6. Green ship recycling

The project will conclude with the development of a comprehensive action roadmap, providing sustainable, data-driven solutions to the maritime community—including shipping companies, shipbuilders, and equipment manufacturers—to advance the industry’s transition to a zero-carbon future.
